Connect to eduroam on ChromeOS

Connecting on Chromebook is slightly more complicated, but we're here to help you every step of the way!

  1. First, select the Wireless icon on the bottom right-hand corner of your screen to display the available wireless networks. Select ncsu.
  2. Open a web browser, and go to https://go.ncsu.edu/eduroam2.
  3. You’ll see a screen prompting you to download a helper application. Please make sure that it lists Chromebook as your operating system. Click JoinNow.
  4. A file called SecureW2.onc will download, and a new browser page will open.
  5. Click “Choose File” under Import ONC file and select the most recent SecureW2.onc that you’ve downloaded.
  6. Finally, click on the Wireless icon again and switch to the eduroam network. You’ll need to make sure the following values are set:

    EAP Method: EAP-TLS
EAP Type: EAP-TLSServer CA: Select the Root
User Certificate: should already been selected for you
Identity: unity-id@ncsu.edu (your Unity email address)
  7. You’re done!
